LAUNCH OF THE AGRI-NEGOSYO PARA SA OFWS
16 March 2021
Online via Zoom Webinar and DTI Facebook Live Stream
The Sub Task Group on Agribusiness (STGA) held the nationwide virtual launch of the AGRI-NEGOSYO PARA SA OFWs last 16 March 2021 via Zoom Webinar and DTI Facebook Live Stream. The project is in line with the Presidential directive to intensify government assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises and displaced workers, particularly OFWs repatriated due to the pandemic.
The launch kick-started the implementation of the project in priority regions where the top 10 provinces with the biggest number of repatriated OFWs are located. As a short background, the Agri-Negosyo Para sa OFWs is a one-stop shop of information for OFWs, offering a menu of integrated agriculture and agribusiness-related programs and services of various government agencies. It intends to address the need of repatriated OFWs affected by the pandemic for sources of livelihood and ultimately, to help develop traditional agribusiness to modern, high value agribusiness.
