The lack of comprehensive and updated data, providing for a clear picture of the Philippine Creative Industries, especially in terms of its actual scope and economic impact, hinders the creation of a more targeted and impactful national strategy that will support its growth and development. This makes it challenging to develop evidence-based policies, identify the gaps in economic performance, and harness the untapped potential of our creative industries.
The session will delve into discussing the importance of having a single understanding of a comprehensive framework that will establish the foundations of a data-driven and market-oriented ecosystem for the local creatives. It shall provide stakeholders with an opportunity to learn from experts and practitioners on valuing the contribution of the sector, including MSMEs and freelancers, as we appropriate a system that will account for the drivers of a creative-driven economy.

Session 2C: Accelerating Opportunities in Broadcast and Media Creatives
The Broadcast and Media Industry has long been enabling the creative industry to flourish by being a platform for disseminating content through its many channels; however, it is important to note that while they are an enabler, the industry itself is a creative industry that requires nurturing.
The onset of the pandemic marked the start of the shift to the new normal, wherein the Broadcast and Media Industries continue to face new challenges and opportunities. As day-to-day digitalization evolved, people consumed greater amounts of content in the comfort of their homes through online channels.
In the road to digital transformation, there is a need to better understand the factors to expand their reach in the digital market and address consumer needs. Thus, this session provides an opportunity for our stakeholders to further understand the landscape of Philippine broadcasting and mass media. It will enable practitioners and industry stakeholders to provide their insights and experiences in developing strategies and agendas that can catalyze development in the sector, emphasizing the role of digital technology and new business models to accelerate growth.
