Inclusive Innovation Conference
The Inclusive Innovation Conference (IIC) is the annual gathering of stakeholders from government, academe, and industry across the country to take stock of the country’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, discuss current concerns, and consider ways to address these. The IIC is being held consistent with the implementation of the Inclusive Innovation Industrial Strategy (i3S), which focuses on building competitive and innovative industries in the country and strengthening their linkages in regional production networks and global value chains.
Manufacturing Summit
The Manufacturing Summit is the annual gathering of stakeholders from the public and private sectors across the country to take stock of the performance of the manufacturing sector, discuss current concerns, and consider ways to address these. The Summit is conducted consistent with the implementation of the Inclusive Innovation Industrial Strategy (i3S), which focuses on building competitive and innovative industries in the country and strengthening their linkages in regional production networks and global value chains.
Creatives Industry Summit
Slingshot
Slingshot is an annual event designed to support entrepreneurs, especially in the field of innovation and the creative industries. Slingshot aims to give limelight to creative entrepreneurship and the successes of the creators and the creative communities. It aims to feature creative entrepreneurs to share how they started, how they were challenged, and how they flourished thereafter. We also aim to share and promote creative collaborations and how the community can work together towards a unified goal of spreading awareness and appreciation of the Creative Industries.

CIG Talks
With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), we need to prepare our firms and industries, and workforce on the opportunities it offers and the challenges it presents in order to sustain the country’s competitiveness. CIG Talks, which aims to familiarize participants with selected 4IR topics and technologies, their application to trade and industry, and their impact on economic activities and conduct of business.

Launch of the Agri-Negosyo Para sa OFWs
The launch kick-started the implementation of the project in priority regions where the top 10 provinces with the biggest number of repatriated OFWs are located. As a short background, the Agri-Negosyo Para sa OFWs is a one-stop shop of information for OFWs, offering a menu of integrated agriculture and agribusiness-related programs and services of various government agencies. It intends to address the need of repatriated OFWs affected by the pandemic for sources of livelihood and ultimately, to help develop traditional agribusiness to modern, high value agribusiness.

JICA Pitch Event
The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), together with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Board of Investment (DTI-BOI) collaborated on a project for the Industrial Competitive Enhancement through Industrial Human Resource Development and Supply & Value Chain Development. The project includes forming the startup ecosystem between the Philippines and Japan by attracting Japanese venture capitalists (VCs) to make an investment in the Philippine startups.

JETRO Pitch Event
The “Presentation & Networking for Philippine Startups and Japanese Companies in the Philippines”, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) was held last 26 February 2020  to foster the Philippine Startup Ecosystem and to strengthen the partnership between the Philippines and Japan. The event served as an opportunity for the Filipino startups to present their innovative technology and services to around 30 Japanese companies currently operating in the Philippines and allow for possible future partnerships between Filipino startups and Japanese companies.

Launching of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy Roadmap
DTI commissioned distinguished data scientists, Dr. Christopher P. Monterola and Dr. Erika Fille T. Legara, of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Aboitiz School of Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (ASITE) for the formulation of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy Roadmap. The A.I. Roadmap is DTI’s tangible commitment for an overarching strategy that shall take advantage of the opportunities as well as address the challenges faced by the country in the ongoing digital transformation, in the wake of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that is projected to affect the country’s economic trajectory. A.I. is seen as a major tool in the 4IR era, able to replicate human activity, learning from patterns taken from data inputs. A.I. is versatile and applicable to a lot of industries that it is seen to drive most of the disruptions arising from 4IR.
